1) Backyard target, built to IATF specifications
2) Webcam or Phone for video
It’s easy to set up your phone as the video source when you join the meeting - no special equipment needed!
3) Wifi or strong cellular data
4) Bluetooth speaker (optional, but strongly recommended to help you hear the audio)
5) Tripod for your camera (optional)
We do want to see your target, so try to get your camera focused on the boards
If you’re not throwing, go ahead and stop your video - it keeps the main screen for the 2 targets. (Feel free to stay on audio to cheer on the competitors or tell them how they need to throw better)
After each throw, each participant should clearly call out their score and verify with each other before the next throw.
If you have a 3rd person as a spectator, have them keep score. Make sure they heard and marked the scores before your next throw.
Standard IATF rules apply for rounds and matches - 5 throws, clutch available on 5th, 2 out of 3 for a match, etc.
Note, tournaments may have different rules and follow IATF formats.
To avoid device requirements, throws will be counted as “no bleed” (i.e.” Novi Rules”)
1) Non-Clutch:
If you cross the paint of a circle at all, you receive the lower value.
If a blade is inside, but completely within the paint, it counts in your favor for the higher value.
This applies to both hatchet and big axe.
2) Clutch: Axe must break the clutch paint to be a successful clutch (e.g., standard IATF rules, not a majority).
Should a match result in a tie, IATF tournament big axe tiebreakers are in effect - in regular league play, after 3 rounds and in a tournament/playoffs, if a single round is tied.
Note: Big axe throws will go straight to points without any "paint" throws.
